#001: Hello From the Desk.

Hi! We’re Renhet Studio, and this is our little blog.

You might already know us from Beelze Pub, the bartending game where you play a skeleton filling in for the weekend at a beach hut. If you haven’t tried it yet, it’s free on Itch.io. Go on, we’ll wait.

Renhet Between Builds is where we get to… talk! About what we’re making, what we’re listening to, what broke this week, and what we’re quietly obsessed with. The stuff that ends up in the background of every polished announcement.

Ten people, six time zones!

Miguel leads the team and writes the code from Spain. Vaclav keeps everything on track from the Czech Republic, the reason we know what day it is. Todd handles game design from the USA. Jay does the art from South Korea. Habin animates, also from South Korea. Jun takes care of VFX, also South Korea. Daniël composes the music from the Netherlands. Ben handles sound design from the UK. And then there’s Ren and Freya (that’s us) doing the marketing side, also from the UK.

We make games together over the internet, which means our studio is partly a Discord server, partly a shared drive, and partly just a group of people who are really enthusiastic about the same things.

What to expect.

Every week, one of us sits down and answers some questions. Dev logs, recommendations, half-finished thoughts, bug horror stories, whatever’s been on our minds. You’ll hear from all ten of us eventually, so stay tuned!

And here’s the fun part: you can ask us things too. Drop your questions in the comments here, or find us on Twitter, Instagram, or TikTok. We’ll put them into posts and answer them properly, from the actual person who knows.

We’re figuring out the shape of this as we go, which honestly feels very on-brand for us.

Why “Between Builds”?

That in-between-space, where one thing is done, the next thing is half-formed, and everything is still up for debate, is where most of the interesting stuff happens. That’s what this is. Come hang out with us here!
